Joris Nieuwenhuis climbs to another podium after Saturday's triumph: "It gave me the extra confidence today"

Another podium place for Joris Nieuwenhuis. On Saturday he triumphed in the Superprestige Merksplas, while on Sunday he finished third in the Troyes World Cup.

"I felt great yesterday. That gave me the confidence that I would be okay today," he said in the flash interview after the cyclocross in France.

Still, Nieuwenhuis admitted that yesterday's effort was felt. "I still felt my legs a bit, but I tried to make progress during the race. I started riding better lines, so it was okay."

Ultimately, Nieuwenhuis fought with Gerben Kuypers for third place. Did the Dutchman have extra confidence that things would turn out well because he had won a cross on Saturday? "Yes of course. But like I said, I had to get into the race a bit. That's why I saw him riding in front of me. I think that was a big advantage on this lap. That was very nice."
