Michael Matthews is one of the highest profile riders on the start for Monday's Eschborn-Frankfurt making his name stand out. The profile is very favorable for him, as many pure sprinters will not be able to follow on such hard climbs, making Matthews' odds for a potential final sprint even better.
The only clouds over Matthews' dream of winning is the fact that he hasn't finished a race in over a month and, outside Australia, his performances didn't quite meet his high standard so far in this season. A badly-timed Covid-19 infection was behind the lack of results recently, having missed out on a lot of the cobbled classics and the Ardennes.

If there's one team that wants to blow up the race from the start, then it has to be Team Jayco AlUla for their leader - Michael Matthews. Their second card is talented German cyclist, Felix Engelhardt, who has already proved to be a very solid climber while having more than decent final punch, as shown at Per Sempre Alfredo earlier this year.
"The course for this edition is very demanding, and this will make the race more exciting to which I am very much looking forward to!” - Felix Engelhardt shares his excitement to ride on his home soil in team's official press release.
Team Jayco AlUla for Eschborn-Frankfurt: Michael Matthews, Felix Engelhardt, Michael Hepburn, Lukas Pöstlberger, Blake Quick, Callum Scotson and Campbell Stewart.
