Dylan Teuns has found his best form and has been putting on very strong performances over the past few weeks. He hopes to carry that form into Amstel Gold Race where he could make the difference on the climbs.
“Let's hope I'm on the podium today. The situation must be good for this," Teuns told L1. "I prefer to ride to the finish with a small group. But it will be a nervous start. The Amstel Gold Race has always been a nervous race, but especially now because Mathieu van der Poel is starting. He is definitely the man to beat.”
The Israel - Premier Tech rider had shown good signs at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, and then confirmed his return to his best level at the Tour of Flanders. In both however it did not bring a top result. In Flanders his attack together with Alberto Bettiol was caught in sight of the line and he finished eighth on the day.
However, earlier this week he was second at the Brabantse Pijl in a strong display of climbing power and sprinting as well, and is geared up towards Amstel with form like few others have. Later on he will also return to Flèche Wallone where he has won in the past.
