CyclingUpToDate Rating 2023 | Team Jayco AlUla: 6.06

Team Jayco AlUla had a decent season, with Simon Yates jumping back into top form, Eddie Dunbar coming out as a Grand Tour rider and the sprinting combo of Michael Matthews and Dylan Groenewegen bringing in solid points and a few quality wins.

UCI ranking 2023: 10.704 points (13th)

Victories (World Tour): 17 (4)

Top riders in UCI rankings: Simon Yates (11th)

Rating - 6.06

Rúben Silva (CyclingUpToDate): 6. A positive surprise perhaps? I didn't expect much from Jayco this year but I was wrong. Eddie Dunbar ended up a great transfer as he turns out to be a talented Grand Tour rider with a 7th spot at the Giro. Michael Matthews did score less points when comparing to the past but he won at the Giro and kept riding well elsewhere. And Simon Yates performed very well - second at Tour Down Under and Top5 at Tour de France, Il Lombardia and Paris-Nice. He showed his very best climbing legs once again. A few other results from other riders throughout the season added up enough points to finish 13th in the season and it holds up well I'd say.

Kieran Wood (CyclingUpToDate): 7. At its core, a season built around strong performances at the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France for Jayco AlUla. Eddie Dunbar impressing in his first GC challenge before tailing off to finish 7th overall at the Giro as Filippo Zana took a brilliant stage win in the Italian tricolor. In France it was all about Simon Yates as the Brit took a career best result at the Tour to finish 4th overall. Add to that a dominant performance from the team at the Tour of Slovenia and it’s a very solid season.

Ondřej Zhasil (CyclingUpToDate): 5.5. Two Grand Tour stages are below the team's qualities, but 4th place from Tour seems to balance things out a bit. Additionally, there are some decent results from big one-day races like 5th at Lombardia and 3rd in Quebec, along with highly-valued 2nd from their home Tour Down Under.

Juan Larra (CiclismoAlDia): 6. A year with ups and downs for Team Jayco-AlUla, which has had an active Dylan Groenewegen throughout the year with victories, Michael Matthews and Filippo Zana winning the Giro d'Italia and a very active Simon Yates in the Tour de France, who came close to the podium. An acceptable season, but nothing more, for the Australian team.

Jorge Borreguero (CiclismoAlDia): 6. From a team for which there was hardly any demand for 2023, it has turned out that Jayco-AlUla has achieved good enough results this season to be approved. Simon Yates was at a high level, with top 5 finishes in the Tour de France, Il Lombardia and Paris-Nice, and Eddie Dunbar promises to be a great future signing for the Grand Tours after his 7th place in the Giro d'Italia.

Victor Gonzalez (CiclismoAlDia): 5.5. Honorable placements in very important races, especially for Simon Yates, and two stage victories in the Giro d'Italia earn my approval for the Team Jayco AlUla's season.

Filipe Pereira (CiclismoAtual): 6. Team Jayco-AIUla definitely have a good all-rounder squad. They can win in sprints with Dylan Groenewegen or Michael Matthews, if it gets a bit more hilly, Simon Yates for everything mountain and GC related, with Eddie Dunnbar laying out some cards regarding this aspect with a good Giro top 10. Even Filippo Zana got a Giro Stage win and the Tour of Slovenia GC, the team's main breakout star Felix Engelhardt and Jesús David Peña had some interesting results as well, plenty of good wins achieved with a wide range of riders.

Carlos Silva (CiclismoAtual): 7.

Ivan Silva (CiclismoAtual): 5.5. Top 5 in Tour de France aswell as 2 stage wins in Giro D'Italia and a top 10 in Giro D'Italia. Also worth mentioning Yates' top 5 in Lombardia and Matthews top 3 in Quebec. Overall an average season.
