Team Arkéa Samsic was the only World Tour team that did not win at the highest level. Perhaps the lowest-level team however, it was 19th in the UCI rankings and fights for it's survival at the top level currently.
UCI ranking 2023: 7229 (19th)
Victories (World Tour): 10 (0)
Top riders in UCI rankings: Arnaud Démare (76th, although he started season in Groupama-FDJ)
Rúben Silva (CyclingUpToDate): 2. A team focused in the UCI points and survival. After the demise of Nairo Quintana it has been a struggle to perform the same way, with Warren Barguil and Hugo Hofstetter also struggling to perform. 19th in the UCI rankings, outside maintenance line, sums it up. It's a team that keeps it's level overall, a decently strong French calendar and classics team but it hasn't overperformed and so it won't be easy to match other World Tour outfits. Kévin Vauquelin started off the season quite well and gave promise but injuries derailed his second half of the season. There the entrance of Arnaud Démare may seriously help it's ambitions, although this year it was too late to make a serious difference. Jenthe Biermans, Luca Mozzato and Clément Champoussin brought a few wins whilst Cristian Rodríguez brought in UCI points with his relative consistency in the climber-oriented races, but at a modest level.
Kieran Wood (CyclingUpToDate): 3. The jump to World Tour level has been a struggle for Arkea Samsic in 2023. Just 10 wins, none of them coming at World Tour level notably, the French-based lineup has been just making up the numbers for much of the year sadly.
Ondřej Zhasil (CyclingUpToDate): 1.5. It's been a tough reality check for Arkéa in their first season at the highest level. The only remarkable achievement of the past twelve has been the signing of Arnaud Démare in August. There's a huge mission awaiting for 2024 - to recover from the 2000-point deficit in the UCI ranking.
Juan Larra (CiclismoAlDia): 1. A very poor season in which we can only highlight the victories of Kévin Vauquelin and Arnaud Démare, signed in the second part of the season. They have not been able to replace the loss of Nairo Quintana with any expert rider who could bring UCI points and they are going to have a really hard time to stay in the WorldTour in the next cycle.
Jorge Borreguero (CiclismoAlDia): 1. It's fair to say that Arkéa Samsic has been the worst team in the peloton this year. With zero victories at WorldTour level in 2023, and Cristián Rodríguez's 13th place in the Vuelta a España, Arkéa's season is one to forget as soon as possible.
Victor Gonzalez (CiclismoAlDia): 2. A very disappointing year for Team Arkéa Samsic, and fortunately, Arnaud Démare arrived mid-season to secure some victories in minor classics.
Filipe Pereira (CiclismoAtual): 2. Team Arkéa-Samsic had a pretty lackluster season, getting very few wins, with the most prominent ones being Clément Champoussin getting a stage win at the Artic Race and Jenthe Biermans in Tour de Luxembourg. Kevin Vauquelin got the Tour Alpes Maritimes and Tour du Jura, which made him stand out and same goes for Arnaud Démare, who arrived in August and was one of the top 3 winning riders of the team, with two victories. They seem pretty much doomed to go back to being a ProTeam but maybe a super Démare and Vauquelin and now Vincenzo Albanese can save the team's WorldTour stripes.
Carlos Silva (CiclismoAtual): 5. The horrible season finished when... Arnaud Démare arrive. He races moved by rage and save Arkéa's season
Ivan Silva (CiclismoAtual): 1.5. 0 World Tour wins and the best they did during the whole season was a 6th place in GC at Tour of Guangxi, a 13th in Vuelta a España GC and a 2nd place on a stage at Giro D'Italia. Very short for a World Tour team
