Yes, UAE were exceptionally lucky this year. It seemed like they were taking too much risk by trying the Giro-Tour double, but it was their rivals who were focusing on the Tour who were badly injured in a crash. Re the easy course, it does sound like the Giro organisers might discuss that with UAE or Visma if they showed serious interest in sending Tadej or Jonas, respectively.21-10-2024 11:16

😊 How best to use the Giro as training for the Tour, while winning, I guess!21-10-2024 07:17

When UAE announced that Pogacar would be doing the Giro-Tour double, Vingegaard responded that he would be taking notes for when he did it too. In other words, he already intended to do it, just not in 2024. But he will be able to take useful tips from the 2024 Giro.20-10-2024 20:46

He descended faster than Tadej on the steep upper section of the Col du Galibier, which had some big wet patches. It was only lower down that he lost time. His level was amazing, right from the start of the Tour.19-10-2024 14:27

He may be already preparing and training for next year. I read (in Canadian Cycling Magazine) that last year his wife said her dream was for him to do all three grand tours in one year, Maybe next year will be the one.17-10-2024 19:47

We can't know what any of these riders is like away from the media. I try to base my opinion on how they behave, and the way that Pog was consistently gracious in defeat in 2023 made me a fan, so I am glad he has done well in 2024. I think this fear that he will dominate in 2025 is premature, as Jonas is sure to come back even stronger. I don't think one has to be a big fan of a rider to enjoy watching them win again and again - after he accused Fred Wright of causing his Vuelta crash I have not really been a Roglic fan, but I will never tire of seeing him win simply because he is so easy on the eye.15-10-2024 10:13
