After his incredibly dominant time trial win on stage 1, Tuesday's stage 2 at
Tirreno-Adriatico 2025, won by his good friend
Jonathan Milan, didn't offer up too much cause for concern for
INEOS Grenadiers' race leader
Filippo Ganna. Ahead of stage 3 though, the Italian is slightly concerned about the predicted weather forecasts.
"Only one athlete broke away today, so the pace in the group was quite cautious and calm, then increasing in the final kilometres as predicted," Ganna recaps of the day's racing in his post-stage interview afterwards, having kept himself safely in the bunch and in the overall race leader without too much issue. "It was a transition day, with a sprint," he adds simply.
As mentioned though, Wednesday's stage 3 could offer up a little more to bother the Italian. "Tomorrow we expect a lot of rain. We hope the weather will improve, but I don’t think so. So we need to try to stay well covered and try to see what happens in the finale," he previews with a hint of concern, before setting out his goals for the day. "Try to stay out of trouble, to not have problems and have a calm day," Ganna concludes.
