Time-trials in cycling are a combination of power and technology. A discipline where the tiniest of details are taken into consideration, we take a look at the positions of some of the Vuelta a Espana contenders on their TT bikes during today's stage 10.
Whilst the position does not define the times of the riders, small differences are possible to see between some of the main favourites for the win at the Vuelta a Espana. Besides the new World Champion equipment of Remco Evenepoel, the day also saw the man in the red jersey, Sepp Kuss, put on a brilliant time which came as a surprise.
It is possible to see a small difference when comparing the likes of Sepp Kuss, Lenny Martínez and Enric Mas - who do not specialize in the discipline - against the rest. The rest of the main GC contenders for victory at the Vuelta are all quality riders against the clock, but still between them it is possible to see interesting details such as Jonas Vingegaard's very long reach in the TT bars and Remco Evenepoel extremely tight position.

The pure time-trialists
Of course we cannot forget the purists of the discipline. Italian and European Champions Filippo Ganna and Stefan Bissegger were both on the hotseat, and the INEOS Grenadiers rider took the victory. The course, which did not feature climbs and was good for the pure powerhouses, finally saw Ganna take the best out of Evenepoel after his defeats at the Giro d'Italia and the World Championships.
