Spain's Ivan Romeo has taken a brilliant victory on stage 5 of the 2023 Tour de l'Avenir, soloing to the win after a late attack.
Due to the extreme heat in France, the stage was brought forward by two hours and when Movistar Team's young starlet made his move, the peloton, lead by Jan Christen and Francesco Busatto was just too slow. Unable to catch the Spaniard, they managed to cross the line within ten seconds of the lone leader.
