Alpecin-Fenix - soon to be Alpecin-Deceuninck - are set to make a move to the World Tour level next year, and they are preparing for a round of signings that will solidify their competitive level throughout the year at the highest level of racing.
Groves had been heavily rumoured to be joining the team already, and it doesn't come as a surprise that in a report by Daniel Benson, he has been named as one of the riders ready to make the move to the Belgian team. The Australian sprinter will be replacing Tim Merlier, who will be making a move to Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team.
Recent Baloise Belgium Tour stage winner Quinten Hermans will be another, a name who has also been around the market with the move to Alpecin making the most sense as the team combines the aspirations of it's cyclocross riders like no other World Tour team. He will be a man to take into account in the Ardennes classics and the hilly races.
Finally, Soren Kragh Andersen has also been named. The Dane has recently been left out of the Tour de France, and Team DSM have confirmed that he would be leaving the team - and leaving most assuming that Andersen has been purposefully left out, similar to other riders in the past. The 27-year old rouleur is a perfect fit for the Belgian team who have a heavy focus on classics and one-day races, and it signals an important move in his career as he rides with the Dutch outfit since 2016.
