Some of the biggest French races, such as Paris-Nice, the Tour of the Alps and the Critérium du Dauphiné have revealed which teams have been gifted wildcard invitations their respective races.
Of course, the eighteen World Tour teams are granted automatic entry to both Paris-Nice and the Critérium du Dauphiné, which leaves just four spots open for the hopeful, lower-level teams. Lotto Dstny and Israel - Premier Tech gain entry to both races due to their performances in 2023, being numbers one and two in the UCI ProTeams ranking.
At Paris-Nice, the two, invited teams that complete the list are French-based TotalEnergies and the Swiss outfit, Tudor Pro Cycling Team. Meanwhile, the Critérium du Dauphiné has granted Uno-X Mobility and the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team an opportunity.
With the Tour of the Alps being a 2.Pro competition, things are a little different. Here, just nine World Tour teams will make the startlist. These include INEOS Grenadiers, BORA - hansgrohe, Lidl-Trek and Movistar Team, but notably, Team Visma | Lease a Bike and UAE Team Emirates are absent.
