With the route and profiles announced towards the end of 2023, all that was left for the 2024 Tour de France was to find out the teams involved. We now know the lineup!
A total of eighteen teams were automatically guaranteed selection for the Tour de France, those being all the World Tour teams such as Team Visma | Lease a Bike, UAE Team Emirates, Soudal - Quick-Step and the INEOS Grenadiers.
Joining them are the two top, UCI Pro Teams from the 2023 season, Lotto Dstny and Israel - Premier Tech. Both teams have a long history with the Tour de France and have featured heavily in recent editions of the race.
Finally comes the two invitees. French team, TotalEnergies are always likely to have an invite to their home Grand Tour and this has proven true once again. Completing the list are the Scandinavian, Uno-X Mobility, who made their Tour de France debut last year. Although they couldn't take a stage win in 2023, the addition of the likes of Magnus Cort Nielsen could see them threaten from breakaways in 2024.
