After a 2022 riddled with injuries which saw miss the
national championships, he then ended the season at the Tour de France. This spring he's gotten some form back, although a 7th spot at the Tour of Flanders was the best result to show for. His Tour de Suisse saw him with some form but he wasn't the main favourite to win yesterday's challenge, but he set off to beat both Mikkel Bjerg and Mattias Skjelmose by a reasonable margin.
“The course here in Aalborg was very much to my liking. I knew I was going pretty well from the start, and when I heard that I was 17 seconds ahead at the second split I got an extra boost of confidence that the win was within my reach," he explains, "and kept riding hard. It’s really nice to cap off such a strong ride with a victory."
