Piganzoli, at age 21/22, won the Tour of Antalya, finished 10th at the Tour of the Alps, 13th at the Giro d'Italia, 9th at the Tour of Luxembourg but perhaps most impressively, he finished third at the Giro dell'Emilia - joining none other than Tadej Pogacar and Tom Pidcock in the final podium.
There has been no slowing down from the 22-year old from Morbegno, who will be leading
Team Polti VisitMalta at the upcoming Giro d'Italia as a GC outsider or potential stage hunter. He was second to Magnus Cort Nielsen at O Gran Camiño, and has been consistently performing throughout the spring. This has obviously earned him a great deal of attention from top teams who are looking to sign him towards the 2026 season, with teams constantly looking to sign the 'next big thing'.
It has been reported by
Gazzetta dello Sport that this deal is not confirmed or agreed on yet, but that the Dutch team is in pole position. This however also confirms that there is active interest and potential negotiations from other teams currently to sign Piganzoli, who could become a very big figure in the mountains over the coming years.
