Seriously now, I’d be interested in your opinion on some things then based on your experiences because I can’t find much info online about it.
It’s obvious from internet that many people suffer from water/fluid/weight retention after certain work-outs/injuries/inflammation and yet from personal experience and others I know it is not a given, even for similar cases.
Do you think it’s possible different people are more or less predisposed to swelling and or WR just like we are all different regarding bruising, allergies, wound healing, etc.
Do you see any difference in these symptoms between differing « lifestyles » i.e. is there a difference in reactions in inactive vs well-trained or differing body types?
- MajorPayne, I don’t have way as much of a problem as many seem to have with me for being critical of information that either clashes, seems pointless or suspicious or is given for hidden reasons. Tadej obviously DIDN’T really have a problem as his 2 wins on the next two days show, but I guess it must sound cool now to make it seem that even « handicapped « he still won, made his fans happy anyway.
And for mij, sorry if I gave the impression it was fishy, that was not intended, just not buying the « problem ».
Now, does anyone actually know what damage there really was or did he just have a sore bruised knee like everyone that falls on theirs coz even Wellens who was so involved doesn’t really seem to really know. Every time I have some kind of injury checked I get a long report with some fancy latin words I need to go look up.
- That’s ironic coz Tim now tells us it was obvious to him, so why no-one else noticed?
- No idea of the numbers but no, inflammation can occur without swelling, swelling can occur without inflammation. A simple search of more than the first few results of « inflammation vs swelling » would do a lot of people good. Water retention is a third thing not always related.
- Ouch :-)
- Replace "Grand Tours" with "Monuments" in one place and it will be closer to reality.
- correct answer IMO
- Seemed like del Toro had legs and could probably have followed Yates. He was certainly pretty spunky at the end of the race. UAE team car didn't give good advice. Sure chasing back to Yates MIGHT have helped Carapaz. But not chasing Yates down guaranteed defeat.
- sure looked like he could have followed but the DS was telling him not to. Carapaz probably would have worked with Del Toro, or so it seemed at the time. I agree it was for Del Toro to take matters into his own hands, but they were just looking at each other. Oh, and Del Toro having the jersey was more strength than tactics. Did anyone who threatened him actually attack him, or put him in a position where he needed to play tactics? Not until the last climb, a-hole.
