"My season splits into phases. Initially, it was the TDU, Nationals, and UAE Tour. Since first racing TDU, it’s become a dream race to win one day. Having come so close, I'm eager to return and seize that victory. Now I’ve been discovering my punchiness, my ability to perform in short, explosive efforts. These suit the Ardennes classics perfectly. Races like Basque Country and Romandie fit the profile too."
But his main goals of 2025 are yet to come. "The year's culmination, though, is Poland and the Vuelta. The Vuelta, which is notoriously punishing, offers opportunities ideal for riders like me, races of attrition with punchy finishes." The 23-year-old has quite fond memories of the Spanish Grand Tour and now hopes to finally raise his hands.
Finn is not the only wearer of the Fisher-Black name in Europe though. His sister Niamh Fisher-Black has been one of the best cyclists in the women's peloton for few years now and with a stage win Giro d'Italia, she still a few steps ahead of her younger brother, whose best result is a second place at
Vuelta a Espana year earlier.
"Niamh’s been outstanding these past few years. Sometimes it feels like I'm playing catch-up!" he laughs warmly. "Seeing her thrive pushes me harder. Having each other both in Europe, away from family, is something special."
