Luke Rowe looking to get back to Tour de France alongside INEOS Grenadiers: "I am committed to give my best and fight for a place in the Tour"

Welsh cyclist Luke Rowe, 33, is facing a new stage in his professional career with the INEOS Grenadiers team. After being part of the team in eight consecutive editions of the Tour de France between 2015 and 2022, Rowe was left out of the Tour lineup in 2023. However, the team renewed his contract for two more years, giving him the opportunity to earn his way back into the team for the Tour.

"Despite the personal challenges I faced last year, I am determined to regain my position on the team and participate in the Tour," Rowe said in a recent interview with GCN. "It was a difficult season, but I want to get back on the road and represent the team in the big competitions."

In his first race of the year at the Volta ao Algarve, Rowe proved his worth by working as a team to protect his teammates. "It's a great motivation for me to race again and help the team in any way I can," Rowe added. "I'm committed to giving my best and fighting for a place in the Tour."

Although competition for a spot on the team is fierce due to the arrival of new talent, Rowe continues to be valued for his experience and dedication in the gregarious role. "I've always been a team rider and I'm ready to take on any role the team needs," Rowe said. "I hope I can contribute to the team's success and earn a roster spot for the Tour."

While acknowledging that the end of his career is near, Rowe is committed to leaving it all on the road and looking for a dignified exit at the end of his contract, hoping that his journey with the INEOS Grenadiers team can have a fairytale ending.
