Preview stage 1. On the 17th and 18th of February the riders take on the Tour des Alpes Maritimes. In the Southwest of France the riders tackle two hilly days, in what is one of France's several early-season stage-races.
The first day is hilly but very open. From Levens to Antibes the riders find little flat roads, and a circuit that wraps up the day of racing. There are several small ascents throughout the circuit that the riders tackle four times into Valbonne. The finale will then take place in Antibes, a downhill one, after a very explosive day of racing.
