Stage 3 of the UAE Tour will provide the climbers with an opportunity to make differences in their preferred terrain, and it will further develop the fight for the overall classification. Remco Evenepoel believes the right strategy will be to be patient.
“It's an excellent start to this great race. We couldn't wish for a better start," the World Champion said ahead of the third day of racing in the UAE Tour. Teammate Tim Merlier won the opening day as Evenepoel put in damage to many of his rivals, and on the second day of racing Soudal - Quick-Step took a tight win on the team time-trial.

He sets off for stage 3 tied with race leader Luke Plapp, however that could change today. “I'm looking forward to the final climb. Four years ago I fell the day before and couldn't climb it. It will be a test of what I can do on such a long, stable climb," he continued.
Team DS Klaas Lodewyck has commented on how the Belgian is showing better form then at the Vuelta a San Juan, where the queen stage was quite similar to what is on today's menu. "In Argentina I was not patient enough. Now I will have to be and wait for the last kilometers. It will be a brutal, long effort," he concluded.
