Juan Sebastián Molano arrived at the
Vuelta a Espana with good form and was very close to the win on stage 4. Yesterday he looked to take vengeance and go for the win, but he crashed in the run-up to the finish line.
"Today I lost a nice opportunity, I was doing very well all day, with nice legs, motivated, but in the end it's cycling," Molano said following the stage. I'm a little bruised on the left hand, we'll see how it goes tomorrow, how I'm doing tonight. They fell in front of me, I touched the brake too much and I went away."
Alongside the likes of Milan Menten and Andreas Kron, the Colombian crashed in one of the many roundabouts in the closing kilometers of the day. He was not seriously injured, however lost a very important opportunity. A difficult situation to manage, however there is no option other than to accept and move on.
"A lot of pain in my wrist, I wanted to do an my hands and I saw that my hand went into another rider's wheel, that's why I wanted to do X-rays because when I put the chain on it hurt a lot," he tells. "I don't let my guard down, I like to continue, if there are obstacles, I can overcome them and I hope to return in the next stage."
