Tirreno-Adriatico is every year one of the most important stage-races as it not only gathers many of the World Tour riders beginning their World Tour stint in Europe, it often serves as preparation for many of the riders who are eyeing the spring classics in the cobbles and Milano-Sanremo. The route for the 2023 edition has been revealed.
The seven-day stage-race will be marked by it's mix of stages that suit all types of riders. It starts with an 11.5-kilometer time-trial in Lido di Camaiore, followed by two flat stages for the sprinters and a hilltop finish into Tortoreto. The race will be decided in stages five and six with a mountain stage into Sarnano-Sassotetto, and a hilly explosive day in the hills around Osimo the settle the GC. The final day will be hilly but allows the sprinters to fight for another win in San Benedetto del Tronto.
The 2022 edition was won by Tadej Pogacar who had an overwhelming triumph after dominating the uphill challenges. Jonas Vingegaard and Mikel Landa completed the podium of what was a tough edition.
