The big day is drawing near, as this Saturday
Filippo Ganna will be attempting to take the
Hour Record. He has done a final test towards the goal he is looking to achieve, and all signs points towards Ganna's incoming success.
The Italian will be trying to beat his own teammate (performance engineer) Dan Bigham, who set a distance of 55.548 kilometers in an hour in Grenchen, Switzerland, just under two months ago. Now, on the very same boards, Ganna will be trying to improve the count even further. INEOS have prepared throughout the whole season for this attempt, with the former World Champion having specific preparation and a 3D printed frame on the bike he will be riding.
“I'm looking forward to this challenge," the
INEOS Grenadiers rider told reportes. "Even if it's going to take an hour. It will be interesting to see how my body holds up and how far I can go. This is an opportunity to test your physical and mental limits. Riding this prestigious track is an important step in my career.”
In a test done recently, Ganna averaged 56.150Km/h over a time period of 35 minutes. This exceeds the speed put in by Bigham by a long distance, and if nothing goes wrong it is expected that Ganna will beat the current record this weekend.
