Ethan Hayter has since 2020 been racing for
INEOS Grenadiers, and the collaboration will continue into 2024 as the Briton has renewed for two more seasons amidst meaningful changes within the team.
The signing did not come as a surprise, as recently the British team went on to sign Ethan's younger brother Leo Hayter who is currently one of the most promising under-23 riders, having dominated this year's Giro U23. The duo will now race together, for at least two years as both will certainly have high ambitions for this period of time.
“I am really proud to extend my contract with the team and keep racing as a Grenadier," Hayter said in a press release. "The goal is clear - to kick on and win more WorldTour races, have a go at the World Champs and get some Grand Tours under my belt. I believe I am in the best environment to continue winning over the coming seasons.”
Hayter has just came off a strong win at the Tour de Pologne, his first stage-race win at World Tour level - after conquering the Tour of Norway last season. However, the 23-year old doesn't actually have a specialization, instead his quality is spread throughout many different terrains, where he's shown his versatility which has so far been a very successful approach to racing.
A winner of 16 races since turning pro, Hayter has put himself out there as one of the best time-trialists in the world. However most of his wins came from sprints, usually in hilly races where he frequently has no problems climbing with the best.
He's set to race the Vuelta a Espana later this month, a route that will suit him very well and will be his Grand Tour debut if the team decide to take him to Utrecht.
