With the transfer season on the move,
Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team have already announced their main signings for the coming season.
Patrick Lefevere has talked about how the team has it's selection almost fully made for 2023, and hinted at who may still be joining.
“In the meantime, we have passed 1 August and transfers can be officialized," Lefevere said in his weekly column at Het Nieuwsblad. "We have already announced the arrival of three riders – Hirt, Pedersen and Merlier – and you should not expect much more from us".
Tim Merlier will be the headlining sprinter alongside Fabio Jakobsen next season, whilst Jan Hirt will be a crucial supportive member for Remco Evenepoel and Casper Pedersen will become part of the team's leadout expertize. Despite taking up little spotlight, Quick-Step has already confirmed 28 riders for the coming season. No other big name is expected to join, but the team is still possible to renew from someone within the team.
“Only five riders are out of contract. [Mark] Cavendish leaves the team, [Iljo] Keisse stops," he said. "But [Dries] Devenyns has now indicated that he would like to continue. He is after all Julian’s man, the one who always gives the appropriate pass, and therefore an important person. I’ll just wait and see: Dries is honest enough to indicate whether or not he can take an extra year," he explained.
Devenyns is likely to be the 29th rider to sign with the Belgian team for the coming season, however it is still undecided as, with few spots left to fill, the team may look to find another figure to come into the team to raise it's level.
