BORA - hansgrohe "satisfied with having two riders in the top 10 overall" - Jai Hindley continues modest spring campaign

It is fair to say that the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya was dominated by the battle between Primoz Roglic and Remco Evenepoel. While there were some notable performances from other teams, BORA - hansgrohe had to make do with two bronze podium positions.

The final stage saw Evenepoel claim the win, while Roglic was declared the overall winner at the end of the race. Jai Hindley finished in 12th place, and Cian Uijtdebroeks trailed behind in 28th position.

Hindley and Uijtdebroeks secured 8th and 9th place, respectively, in the GC standings. “For me, this top 10 result almost feels like a win. My goal here was to finish within the best 10 riders, and I prepared myself for that. The last stage was also really hard, but on the circuit I always managed to make it over the climb in a good position. I was able to learn a lot from Jai Hindley during the past week and I would also like to thank the whole team for their support,” Uijtdebroeks said on his team’s website.

While there is always room for improvement, Christian Pömer, the Sports director, expressed his satisfaction with the performance his team delivered. “Even though Jai couldn't make up any more spots in the GC, we're satisfied with having two riders in the top 10 overall, two podiums for Ide Schelling and a strong team performance throughout the week. Cian Uijtdebroeks' ninth place overall is a very valuable result. Getting a result like that at just 20 years old is impressive and an affirmation of his talent,” concluded Pömer.
