Obviously the best thing would be to remove the winners of (most) Grand tours from 1991 to 2005 from the history books to truly clean the records of EPO. Non-EPO doping, the sort Lemond and Merckx used, have to be included as clean. The thing is that it's not possible to go by the obvious, only what was proven right after the EPO era ended. Armstrong confessed early enough after retirement, while Riis and Ullrich confessed later, relatively, and Pantani died. It's obvious that Induráin was, like them, doping, but unfortunately it doesn't work like that (as much as I would like it to). All this was decided quite a while ago, and no-one wants to go back to discussing it, as it's cut and dried

Armstrong should still be listed as winning 7 Tours. All of his competitors were doping also. For example the 3 still-listed Tour winners prior to him were all obviously doping. Bjarne Riis (1996) admitted using EPO while winning but is still listed as the winner. Jan Ulrich (1997) later admitted to doping. Marco Pantani (1998) was later caught using EPO. Armstrong is no more a cheat than thousands of other riders. LeMond should publicly state this.

As much as I always liked his careless racing style, his behaviour last season when he lost Wc, Ec and Lombardia was riduculous. When you're losing a couple if races in a raw in the same fashion - just purely by not being as strong as Tadej, its not even classy, but kinda honest to acknowledge the better won. Instead he was always crying that he lost, because others didn't want to help him.

Beautifully said. Why so giant of a powerhouse as Remco does not even try to go Strade or Flanders, races clear cut for his characteristics.

It's hard for people to accept that WVA isn't in the hunt for monuments and is just a superdomestique. Getting outsprinted by Powless should have removed everyone's illusions.
