Vuelta a Espana 2026 Classifications Update Stage 15 - Enric Mas takes two-minute lead into final week as Wout van Aert surges 108 points clear

The first red jersey of the 2026 Vuelta a Espana will be decided immediately in Monaco, where a 9.4-kilometre individual time trial opens a race featuring more than 58,000 metres of climbing, repeated summit finishes and a second race against the clock later in the final week.
This live classifications hub will be updated after every stage with the latest General Classification, Points Classification, Mountains Classification and Best Young Rider standings, tracking the fight for the red, green, polka-dot and white jerseys from Stage 1 on August 22 through to the final stage in Granada on September 13.
The overall battle will be shaped by repeated opportunities for the climbers, from the early Pyrenean and Andorran tests to Calar Alto, Sierra de la Pandera, Penas Blancas and the decisive Collado del Alguacil. The two individual time trials and bonus seconds provide further chances for the gaps between the main contenders to change.
Sprint finishes and intermediate sprints will drive the points competition, breakaways can quickly transform the mountains standings and the white jersey will develop alongside many of the same stages that decide the general classification. Each update will show the latest standings after the day's racing and highlight the important changes across all four competitions.

General Classification Standings after Stage 15
Mas remains 2:06 ahead of Felix Gall, with Primoz Roglic only four seconds further behind in third. Richard Carapaz continues to occupy fourth at 4:24, while Oscar Onley completes the top five at 5:44.
Jakob Omrzel remains only 30 seconds behind Onley in sixth, followed by Mattias Skjelmose, Cristian Rodriguez, Clement Berthet and Sepp Kuss. All ten riders retained the positions they held after Stage 14.

Points Classification Standings after Stage 15
Van Aert’s victory extended his advantage over Team Visma | Lease a Bike teammate Matthew Brennan from 65 to 108 points. Brennan remains second on 159, but Romele is now only six points behind him after collecting 50 points for finishing runner-up in Cordoba.
Leknessund and Ramses Debruyne were the biggest movers. Leknessund climbed 14 places to fifth on 79 points, while Debruyne rose 17 positions to sixth on 78. Ethan Hayter consequently slipped to seventh despite remaining only two points behind Leknessund.

King of the Mountains Classification Standings after Stage 15
Santiago Buitrago retains the polka dot jersey with 69 points. Van Aert remains his closest challenger on 40 after taking no mountain points during Stage 15. Leknessund collected maximum points on both classified climbs and moved above Lorenzo Fortunato into fourth. His total of 23 leaves him one point behind Mas, although Buitrago still holds a commanding 29-point advantage at the top.

The fight for the white jersey remains unchanged, with Onley holding a 30-second advantage over Omrzel. Leo Bisiaux sits third at 10:41 after the principal young riders finished safely within the peloton.

Decathlon CMA CGM Team continue to lead the teams classification by 57:32 over XDS Astana Team. Bahrain Victorious remain third at 1:11:15. Groupama – FDJ United moved above Netcompany INEOS into fifth, the only positional change inside the top nine. Team Visma | Lease a Bike remain seventh despite Van Aert’s stage victory, while Movistar sit eighth as the Vuelta heads into its second rest day.

- Unbelievably annoying! We in Villaviciosa de Córdoba were looking forward for some time, to the first Vuelta to go through our village (twice). Every business were setting up early, people parking first and settling into prime watching spots for the day. 3,000 locals alone. The temperature is no higher today than normal, so why bother having the tour this time of year. The new route eliminates the two Villaviciosa climbs, leaving the new route going down narrow country lanes. No room for a good pelaton and definitely no room for fans.
