Groupama-FDJ are developing and raising a new generation and they're putting it on display at the Vuelta a Espana. 20 year olds Lenny Martínez and Romain Grégoire will be doing their long-awaited Grand Tour debut.
Lewis Askey will be leading the charge for the sprints. Clément Davy will be the experienced figure in the lineup and road captain for whichever collective ambitions the team carries on the road. Alongside him will be Lorenzo Germany and Samuel Watson who will be racing their first Grand Tour. However they are not the only ones.
Lenny Martínez and Roman Grégoire will also be racing three weeks for the first time. Grégoire is just off the back of a GC victory and double stage win at the Tour du Limousin. Earlier in the year he's also won the tough 4 Jours du Dunkerque, the puncheur has also shown tremendous climbing abilities for his age and will be an interesting figure in the hilly days.
Whilst in the mountains the team will give freedom to Lenny Martínez. Also 20 years in age, he's the winner of the Mont Ventoux Dénivelé Challenge. As a 19-year old he rode close to some of the best climbers this season and will be a rider to watch. On the mountains Rudy Molard will also be performing, whilst Tour de l'Ain Michael Storer seemingly found good form and the team will hope to see the same rider who won two stages and the KOM jersey two years ago here.
