Primoz Roglic, together with his teammates Sepp Kuss and Jonas Vingegaard, played the tactical game well in the thirteenth stage of the Vuelta a España. The Slovenian himself finished third and rose to second place in the rankings, behind Kuss and ahead of Vingegaard, who won the stage solo after an attack on the Col du Tourmalet.
Vingegaard rode away from the group of favorites on the slopes of the mythical climb, while Roglic and Kuss were then able to sit quietly in the wheels of their competitors. "We were at the meeting today and came first, second and third. What else could you want? We were able to take advantage of all the competitors and have now won," he told Slovenian Val 202.
"That was possible because we always had a numerical superiority," he continued. "It turned out great today." Roglic is now 1:37 behind Kuss and seven seconds ahead of Vingegaard, who is third. Tomorrow another tough mountain stage is on the program at the Vuelta.
