Later this summer, Remco Evenepoel will challenge for the Maillot Jaune at the Tour de France for the first time in his career.
After finishing second last week at Paris-Nice, securing his first-ever win on French soil in the process, Evenepoel was seen doing some reconnaissance of the potentially key, individual time-trial in Nice that replaces the traditional procession around Paris on the final stage due to the Olympic Games coming to the capital.
There is more than just the final stage time-trial that could prove key in the race for the Yellow Jersey at the 2024 Tour de France though of course. Alongside his Soudal - Quick-Step teammates, Mattia Cattaneo and Louis Vervaeke, the Belgian National Champion has also taken the opportunity to explore the snowy Col du Turini.
20.6 km at 5.7%, the Col du Turini is a genuine challenge for Evenepoel and the rest of the Maillot Jaune contenders. The mountain also features on an incredible daunting penultimate stage that sees the peloton climb the Col de Braus (10.2 km at 6.3% ), Col de La Colmiane (7.6 km at 6.8%) and the Col de la Couillole (15.8 km at 7.3%).
Check out Evenepoel, Cattaneo and Vervaeke battle the cold in the video below!
