Soren Waerenskjold has renewed with
Uno-X Pro Cycling Team until 2026. One of the most valuable riders of the Norwegian team is a pillar to it's future, and the confidence is confirmed on both sides with this big move.
The renewal of the contract sees the Norwegian ride for another full three seasons besides 2023 with Uno-X. The Norwegian team look to rise to World Tour level in the coming years and are building an incredibly compact block consisting of Norwegian and Danish riders, which have over the last few years achieved great results. Currently Waerenskjold races and learns alongside veteran Alexander Kristoff who joined the team over the winter, but together with Tobias Johannessen he is a future leader for the team.
The 23-year old won the world title at under-23 level in the time-trial last year in Wollongong, beating Alec Segaert and Leo Hayter. He's already been part of the team since 2021 and has won multiple high-level races as an under-23 rider. 2023 is his first fully elite year and he's already won his first race on a hilly day at the Saudi Tour.
Waerenskjold also finished third on the opening day of the Volta ao Algarve despite leading out Kristoff to victory, and has also finished 14th at the recent Dwars door Vlaanderen, showcasing his potential as a classics rider as well.
