UAE Team Emirates - XRG is a team with a lot of money that has reinforced it's climber block substantially over the last few years, however that naturally makes it harder for others to have their opportunities and freedom. However, for the next two years, the team will be able to count on both Adam Yates and Felix Grossschartner who have confirmed a new contract with the team this morning.
“It’s a great feeling to extend my time with UAE Team Emirates-XRG. I’ve felt at home here from day one," Adam Yates said in a press release. "The team environment, support staff, and ambition all align perfectly with where I want to be in my career. I’m excited for what the next few years will bring.”
Yates had his best-ever career results after joining the Emirati team, and in 2023 even joined Jonas Vingegaard and Tadej Pogacar at the podium of the Tour de France - also winning the first stage and wearing the yellow jersey for a few days. He's won races such as the Tour de Romandie, GP de Montréal, Tour of Oman (twice) and Tour de Suisse - besides other strong results he's achieved. He will be co-leading the team's Giro d'Italia lineup this month.
“Renewing with UAE Team Emirates-XRG was an easy decision," Felix Grossschartner added. The 31-year old also joined the team in 2023 and became a valuable domestique all-year round for many of the team's big leaders. It is a role he seemingly thrives in, and at this stage of his career being part of such a successful group is without a doubt a major incentive.
"I’ve developed a lot here, both as a rider and a teammate, and I believe we have even more to achieve together. I’m proud to be part of such a motivated and forward-thinking group," he concluded.
