Tim Merlier takes stage win as Romain Gregoire secures overall victory at the 4 Jours du Dunkerque

On the final stage of the 4 Jours du Dunkerque, it was - who took the stage win from a bunch sprint as Romain Gregoire secured the overall victory of the race.

The final day of racing sees the peloton return to Dunkerque. It is 188 kilometres in length Mostly flat it is expected it will be a final opportunity for the fast men.

In the day's breakaway were seven riders, including former race leader Samuel Leroux. With 37km to go the catch of the break had been completed.

With a pan-flat finale, the peloton began to focus on preparing for a bunch sprint.

The battle for position at the front of the bunch was fierce with the likes of the Uno-X Pro Cycling Team, Soudal - Quick-Step and Jumbo-Visma in the mix.

With the Green Jersey of two-time stage winner Olav Kooij boxed in, the Belgian champion, Tim Merlier was on hand to fire his way to victory.

The overall race win was safely secured by Romain Gregoire.
