"The beginning of this Red Bull era can mean something big for cycling" - Lance Armstrong

Lance Armstrong spoke on his podcast The Move about the main signing of the 2024 cycling market: Primoz Roglic. The cyclist believes it's a very positive thing for the Tour de France that the Slovenian will be riding with a team other than Visma. He also talked about the landing of Red Bull and the importance this could have for the future of the sport.

About Roglic, he is clear that in the Grande Boucle 2024 there will be more spectacle because there will be four stars in four different teams: Roglic in BORA, Jonas Vingegaard in Visma, Tadej Pogacar in UAE and Remco Evenepoel in Quick-Step. Here's what he had to say about it:

"It's a big change, he's not getting any younger, I think the change comes 2 years away for him, I love the move, I think it's wonderful for the fans, plus we have Remco, so if we talk about the Tour we have 4 stars in 4 different teams and that's perfect. He is 34 years old, this must be his year if he wants to win the Tour de France."

On Red Bull's landing, he says he knows the Austrian company inside out and thinks it could mark a new era in professional cycling:

"The Red Bull component is going to make a difference. They are not a random sponsor that is going to put their logo on the jersey or on the bus, they are going to make a difference. They've invested in sports science and physiology from the beginning, I've been to their facility in Santa Monica and they're another level, they're not tinkering, the start of this Red Bull era could mean something big, I'm excited."
