Simon Geschke responds to Remco Evenepoel after his criticism of Tour de Suisse descent: "The descent was not dangerous, the road was good with visible curves"

Remco Evenepoel criticized the organization of the Tour de Suisse for placing the finish of the queen stage on a descent that he considers dangerous. All this, in the heat of the moment after learning of the serious crashes suffered by Gino Mäder and Magnus Sheffield. Simon Geschke is not of the same opinion.

The World Champion had commented on Twitter about the descent: "Although a summit finish would have been perfectly possible, it was not a good decision to let us finish on this dangerous descent. As cyclists, we should also think about the risks we take going down a mountain."

Simon Geschke disagreed with his colleague's opinion as he thought yesterday's descent from Switzerland was not dangerous. So, he replied to Remco on Twitter with the following comment:

"The descent was not dangerous, good roads, no tunnels, perfectly visible curves. However, I agree that in the last 10km of a race you look for trouble. But it's the riders who take risks, not just on the descents."

He was not the only one who disagreed with the criticism of the descent about a descent that was in good conditions as it shows that Juan Ayuso exceeded 100 km/h. There were present comments such as "the next mountain you climb by bike and descend it by bus" or "the descent of La Punt has been final in Switzerland for more than 15 years and there have never been big accidents, the responsibility lies with the cyclists".
