The rest day at the Tour de France is always a time for riders to relax a bit and loosen up in a race that is packed with tension, stress and media in all corners. Over this day we have seen plenty entertaining footage, interesting small news and even sponsor duties come about for some of the world's best riders.

Tadej Pogacar and UAE Team Emirates took on their traditional small rest day ride and the team looked in a good mood over a video shared by Velon. In the video, UAE managed to go through a few fans of the Tour, and in a nice gesture Tadej Pogacar handed over a bidon to a small child riding on the same roads as the Tour riders.

In the Soudal - Quick-Step camp, yesterday's coffee ride was marked by a special equipment being worn by all riders of the team. Remco Evenepoel, of course, was in the spotlight and owning what is a special 50-year anniversary jersey for the bike brand Specialized. Specialized is Quick-Step's bike supplier and one of the most prestigious brands out there, and it has received meaningful exposure this Monday.

Mark Cavendish in the meantime participated in a request from CPA Cycling. The organization has been, together with the Tour de France on social media, requesting on the daily for fans to respect the riders - which includes measures such as giving them space, not having phones up as they pass and more. The 'Manx Missile' is one of the sport's main faces, specially in this Tour, and has shared the following message:

"Hi everyone. Listen, the most beautiful and unique aspect of cycling is how close fans, media, anybody can get to the action. You live with the riders, you live the course, you live everything that's going on. Please, let's not take it for granted, let's understand this is a privilege in the field we have, please show respect to the riders in the race, don't get close to the riders, don't push the riders, don't have flags or objects get in the way don't do anything that's going to change the race. We want to provide a show we want to provide a sport we want to provide you with a good time. So I hope you enjoy it, again stay safe."

In the Team Visma | Lease a Bike camp, it turns out not Jonas Vingegaard isn't the only big leader set to become a father once again soon. Sepp Kuss, winner of the Vuelta a España last year, has also shared that he and his partner will have a child in the upcoming months. After contracting Covid-19 in May, the American rider was at the Criterium du Dauphiné with bad form and couldn't finish the race.

Ultimately, and surprisingly, he was left out of the Tour de France lineup but has nevertheless been enjoying his summer back home in Andorra. It is expected that he will however race the Vuelta later this summer as he has not raced any Grand Tour this year thus far.
