The Tour de Suisse 2025 is nearing its end. However, after Thursday's queen stage, the sixth day of the race will offer a short break for the overall favorites, and finally a chance again for some of the bigger men.
In yesterday’s stage, Joao Almeida came very close to the yellow jersey, which now belongs to Kevin Vauquelin, after finishing second in stage 5. The Portuguese rider is only 39 seconds behind the new leader, but will have to wait to move into yellow. It is safe to say that without UAE’s disaster on stage 1, Almeida would comfortably be in control of this race.
Stage 6 of the Tour de Suisse is by no means a flat or easy stage for those who have difficulty climbing, but most of the climbing occurs early in the day.
In any case, at this stage of the race and with such climbs at the beginning, it could be a stage for the breakaway that would give a chance to names like Roger Adrià, Stefan Kung, Antonio Morgado or Mauro Schmid.
The peloton will have to make some difficult decisions about how to keep it together, and it doesn't help that there are several small climbs along the course to Neuhausen am Rheinfall. However, if they manage to hold it together, the final kilometers are flat and nothing should stand in the way of the sprinters.

Stage profile

Stage 6: Chur - Neuhausen am Rheinfall, 186.7 kilometers
Stage 6: Chur - Neuhausen am Rheinfall, 186.7 kilometers
Like the opening stages of the race, the stage begins with a hard start that can lead to a dangerous breakaway of quality that could end up controlling the stage.
There should be no problems for the men in the general classification, who will be playing for the win on Saturday and, above all, in the very difficult time trial on Sunday.

The weather

The weather will continue to be good, with an average temperature of 29 degrees during the stage. The wind will blow constantly throughout the day. By the time of the finish, there will be a tailwind of between 15 and 30 km/h from the northeast, especially in the last 5 kilometers.
Perfect for the sprint teams!
