The
Tour de France Femmes 2025 will be a very exciting route featuring a start in Bretagne and a finale in the Alps. The top race in the women's calendar starts on the 26th July and ends on the 3rd of August. We
preview stage 5.
Stage 5 sees the race head into the Massif Central, this is the longest stage of the race and also features a finale similar to the hilly one-day races. Before the downhill finale into Guéret, the riders tackle a 2.8-kilometer long climb at just over 5%.
Whilst this wouldn't ordinarily be a pure GC day, it may become one as Demi Vollering comes into the stage perhaps with some fragility and some of her rivals may want to take advantage of the situation. Adding to the fact that Marlen Reusser and Elisa Longo Borghini have abandoned the stage; whilst Lotte Kopecky is also not having her best legs and isn't expected to be amongst the contenders for victory.
Some riders may not have their best legs on the day and so this could triggers others to give it a shot. After the first two explosive days, this finale isn't as tricky, but the climbing can definitely see some interesting attacks and it will be an intriguing topic to see how Lorena Wiebes and
Marianne Vos will resist on the climbs - as in a sprint they would be hard to beat by anyone else in this peloton.
Stage 5: Chasseneuil-Du-Poitou - Guéret, 166 kilometers
