i don't really get your point. are you basically saying that it's ok that riders ahead of the peloton get moto-assistance?25-05-2026 14:03

totally disagree. first, your framing (i and others said in real time ...) lends your opinion about as much credibility as any other contrasting opinion by whoever. fact is, with 40 km to go they had less than 2 min to the leaders. normally a piece of cake, a done thing, an easy catch for the peloton. second, i saw several teams pacing at this point in the peloton, lidl-trek, quickstep, rose rockets, just to name a few. they burned most of their sprint trains until 10 km to go, which obviously does not happen if they are not working. it actually usually never happens because then there are no sprint trains left for the finish. i cannot think of any other reason how this can happen if not something odd (e.g. 'motopacing') going on in the front. but maybe your hypothesis of a lame excuse and no work in the peloton is more reasonable ...25-05-2026 02:08

the point is that without a dominating overall giro performance, jonas won't be seen as a real contender for the tour. with such a performance (+ the mountain stages so far with limited gains over other riders) we don't even need to discuss who will be on the first two podium spots at the tour ... not jonas.19-05-2026 22:55

however, his quotes tend to be taken out of context. he makes a point that the comparison is exaggerated, but everybody jumps on the comparison to armstrong and pretends that he said pogi = modern armstrong. on the other hand, of course he knows that this is going to happen and says it anyways ...11-05-2026 16:24

and i made a fool of myself once again: Jonas Vingegaard blows kisses to the camera as a personal greeting and signal to his family. According to reports from the 2026 Giro d'Italia and previous races, this gesture has become a trademark for him. It serves as a way to say hello to his wife, Trine, and their children while he is away competing, signaling that "all is good" on his end.09-05-2026 17:33

@Mistermaumau true (name with capital letters). 'kette rechts' is german for 'chain to the right side' describing the big chain ring in the front and the smallest in the back. you typically find this slogan written on cycling socks or caps ...05-05-2026 19:58
