On the 27th of January, the transfer market remains open and active.
Filip Maciejuk has signed with
Movistar Team, a move that was confirmed today as the rider did not have his
Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe contract renewed.
βSigning for Movistar Team means a lot to me. Iβm extremely happy and, above all, I want to thank the management, the staff, and everyone on the team for the trust theyβve placed in me," the Polish rider said in a
press release. A rider for Leopard Pro Cycling from 2018, he then moved up to the World Tour in 2022 where he spent two seasons with Bahrain - Victorious.
During this time, he was infamously in the headlines as in the 2023,
he accidentally caused a mass crash at the Tour of Flanders. The next year he moved to Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe where he spent another two seasons, where he has continued his duties as a quality rouleur and road captain. In this time, he won the Polish time trial national championships on both occasions. Now, he takes his country's colours to Movistar.
The perfect environment
"Iβll be joining for the 2026 season and Iβm fully motivated to give 100%, contribute to the teamβs goals, and help us achieve success in the most important races. Movistar Team has a great history, and itβs a real privilege to be part of a team like this. Iβm really looking forward to everything that lies ahead.β
Maciejuk joins Cian Uijtdebroeks, Roger AdriΓ , Raul GarcΓa Pierna, Juan Pedro LΓ³pez and Pave Novak as the Spanish team's signings this winter - although the team does still have space, on paper, to sign two more riders. βThis step is very important for my career, as I'm eager to continue developing and growing as a rider".
I believe Movistar Team is the perfect environment to do so, especially with such an experienced roster in Grand Tours and Classics. My goal is to contribute all the experience I've gained throughout my career, including my time at Red Bull, to support my teammates in the best way possible and help the team achieve good results throughout the season. I hope my work will satisfy both the riders and the team management," he concluded.
