The startlist of the 2026 Giro d'Italia is becoming more and more complete. This Tuesday, riders and staff begin to fly to Bulgaria, with the Grande Partenza taking place in the city of Nessebar.
Bahrain - Victorious,
Movistar Team and
Team Picnic PostNL have each revealed their lineups for the upcoming Grand Tour.
No surprises on the Bahrain camp, however a lineup that can be quite interesting in the fight for the overall classification. Santiago Buitrago leads the way, moving away from the Tour de France where he's focused in previous years. The Colombian faces new ground and is supported by the team's veteran Damiano Caruso, fifth at the Corsa Rosa 12 months ago.
Afonso Eulálio, who crowned the Passo del Mortirolo first last year in what was his breakthrough race, is also present as key mountain support; but virtually everyone on the team will be on stage hunting duties as a priority. Edoardo Zambanini will be a contender for many of the hilly breakaway stages in the race whilst Alec Segaert should also have freedom to chase his own results in those days after a strong spring he's had.
The lineup is completed by Mathijs Paaschens, Fran Miholjevic and Robert Stannard who will mostly be on domestique duties.

Out of the three teams, and most within the race even, Movistar is one that has deployed quite a lot of its focus and big riders. In order to avoid being shadowed at the Tour de France, the Spanish outfit decided to bring many of its leaders to Italy and try to better capitalize on their talent. The lineup is strong and fit for all terrain, with Orluis Aular aiming for the sprints whilst Ivan García Cortina can both be a leadout and also chase stage wins. Lorenzo Milesi will have the same support role; whilst Nelson Oliveira will be road captain.
The Portuguese will prioritize protecting Enric Mas, who has finally made the switch and is aiming for a GC run at the Italian Grand Tour for the first time. His last season ended with a crash at the Tour de France which threatened to leave him outside of the climbers' group. His form is not certain ahead of the race and his goals may change throughout it. The team have Einer Rubio, Top10 in the last two editions, ready to deploy as a GC contender (if his form also improves) or as a stage hunter. Javier Romo and Juan Pedro López come in as both mountain support but above all to also chase breakaway wins throughout the difficult days.

Team Picnic PostNL in the meantime come to the Giro to back up their sprinter Casper van Uden, winner of a stage 12 months ago, and the team's great hope - he recently took the team's first win of the year at the Tour of Turkey. it will be difficult for the Dutch team to contest for results elsewhere at the Corsa Rosa, but Frank van den Broek provides potential for some of the hilly days where breakaways are expected to succeed.
The lineup includes many riders who will be looking for opportunities and try to make the best of them: Sean Flynn, Timo de Jong, Tim Naberman, Warren Barguil, Chris Hamilton and Gijs Leemreize.
