Tom Pidcock has made an impressive start to his time at
Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team, settling in well after leaving the INEOS Grenadiers
over the winter. The British rider opted to skip the cyclocross season this
winter, and so far, that decision appears to be paying off as he gears up for a
demanding spring campaign.
Pidcock already won multiple stages and the GC at the AlUla
Tour, his first race for his new team. Pidcock’s next race will be the Vuelta a
Andalucia, beginning on February 19th, and from there, he will shift focus to
the classics, starting with Omloop Het Nieuwsblad in early March, before
heading to
Strade Bianche, a race that he won back in 2023.
As part of his preparation for the Ardennes, Pidcock will
race Tirreno-Adriatico and go for glory at
Milano-Sanremo, two more prestigious
events that will provide him with further opportunities to succeed ahead of his
title defence at Amstel Gold Race.
Following Amstel Gold, Pidcock will also line up for La
Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège, two races where he will aim to
challenge the best in the world once again.
Looking further ahead, Pidcock
has already confirmed that he
will skip the 2025
Tour de France. Pidcock has not had the best of luck at the
Tour in recent years, and at both the 2023 and 2024 editions of the race his
relationship with INEOS unravelled there. Perhaps a year without the Tour is
for the best.
With a balanced mix of one-day classics and stage races on
his schedule, Pidcock’s 2025 season is shaping up to be an exciting one. His
strong start with Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team suggests that he is well-positioned
for success as he embarks on his ambitious spring campaign, lets hope for
Pidcock that this is the start of a brilliant partnership.
