Marlen Reusser has secured the overall win at the Tour de Suisse Women after a tense final day of racing that saw Niamh Fisher-Black take the stage victory.
Finally, the last day of racing will also be tough. It'll feature climbing throughout the whole 115 kilometers, lacking a true mountain ascent as Switzerland has plenty to offer, but featuring a tough final circuit. In Ebnat-Kappel the race will end, but the riders will tackle a 3 kilometer climb at 6% three times before arriving at the finish.
The early breakaway of the day totalled 10 riders. Best placed in the general classification was Eglantine Rayer of Team DSM at 4:19 down.
At the top of the first climb of the day though, just 6 riders remained ahead of the peloton.
On the descent and the subsequent flat, most were brought back with Katarzyna Niewiadoma launching a counter-attack. The Polish rider was soon joined by Niamh Fisher-Black alongside the remaining two breakaway riders, Rayer and Julie Van de Velde.
Heading into the final 30km and that group of 4 had an advantage of over 2 minutes.
Once the two that had been in the breakaway all day were dropped, Niewiadoma and Fisher-Black were a duo up front.
Meanwhile a counter-attack from race leader, Marlen Reusser saw the Team SD Worx rider catch and pass Rayer and Van de Velde, as she chased down Niewiadoma.
At 5km to go, Niewiadoma and Fisher-Black led Reusser by 40 seconds with the rest of the GC favourites 1:20 back.
With Reusser's overall victory seemingly all but assured, attention turned to the stage win. After sitting on Niewiadoma's wheel the whole ride, Fisher-Black sprinted to victory in the final for a double win for Team SD Worx.
