Israel - Premier Tech, as it is currently known, is coming to an end. Israel has removed itself from backing the team any further after the intense protests at the end of the 2025 season, with its climax at the Vuelta a España where the race was significantly disrupted; and its other title sponsor Premier Tech confirmed recently it will not be backing the team either. The situation is not easy, but the end may be in sight as a new Swiss sponsor may come along to save the team.
This was
reported by Gazzetta dello Sport's Ciro Scognamiglio, who informs that the team's license is likely to be Swiss next year. This should mean a Swiss title sponsor is coming, making it a third team backed by the small European nation alongside Tudor Pro Cycling Team and Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team - both of which have had massive leaps in popularity and performance this year with notable signings of classics riders such as Tom Pidcock, Julian Alaphilippe and Marc Hirschi.
The Canadian Premier Tech in the meantime wants to continue its participation in the sport and is looking to become a title sponsor for Alpecin-Deceuninck next season, something which seems quite possible at the time being. All of these market moves could also influence the future of Derek Gee, the Canadian national champion and fourth place at this year's Giro d'Italia,
who remains without an publicly announced contract due to the legal dispute the team has started against him for the one-sided contractual termination.
The Israeli team in the meantime struggled to sign new riders due to the ongoing situation, but after the announcement from the Israeli authorities, its announced several signings and renewals. Still, only 25 riders have a contract currently for the upcoming season, and there is still space for several more. The confirmation and backing from its new sponsor could change the outlook of the team and allow for further investments in the market.
