UAE Team Emirates - XRG's Isaac del Toro has taken the win at the 2025 edition of cycling's oldest one-day race, Milano - Torino. Outsprinting Ben Tulett and Tobias Johannessen in a three-up sprint for the line.

Five men got themselves into the day's breakaway, including notable names Jonas Rutsch and Mattia Bais. As the peloton ramped up the pace ahead of the two climbs inside the final 25km though, as the road headed upwards for the first time, the break's advantage was already cut to only around 30 seconds. Rutsch proved to be the last man standing from the break, actually managing to summit the first of the two climbs 12 seconds clear of the bunch.

Ahead of the final ascent of the Colle di Superga, Rutsch had actually extended his advantage to around 20 seconds. Once the climbing began though, the big German couldn't hold out too much longer, eventually being caught at 4.5km to go as UAE Team Emirates - XRG began to light things up. The first big attack of the pre-race favourites came with some aggressive pace-setting by Adam Yates inside the final 3km, drawing an elite group of six clear at the front.

At 1.2km to go, Isaac del Toro then powered around his teammate with a huge move. Ben Tulett and Tobias Johannessen both matched the Mexican though, with the trio passing through the 500m to go marker locked together. Rather than wait for a sprint though, Johannessen attempted his own attack but was ultimately reeled back in. When Del Toro then went again, there was no response this time as he secured a first one-day win of his World Tour career.

It's not that UAE have 19 victories at this point in the season, it's that 9 different riders have been involved. Congratulations to del Toro for joining the list, he's been interesting to watch ever since the first Tour Down Under he raced in!
