The final ascent is 3.8 kilometers at 11.4%, a shorter but steeper climb than the previous two. Both Primoz Roglic and Remco Evenepoel have proven to perform very well on this type of ascents in the past so it will be a challenge for Vingegaard. He's likely to move up in the GC as many riders above in the classification finished in the positions above, however his battle remains with the riders around the 10th spot where he sits.
Despite the time gains two stages ago, Vingegaard still sits behind Evenepoel, however only three seconds. That has the potential to change today, and the
Jumbo-Visma rider would like that: “Of course it is always better to be ahead than behind, so it would be nice to turn it around.”
