The Vuelta a Espana has been so far riddled with crashes daily and there is no sign that will stop. The 8th stage of the race features wet roads in Valencia and one of the favourites for the overall classification João Almeida has already went down and required assistance.
The incident happened in the early kilometers of the day. The team, which has already lost Jay Vine due to a crash, has seen Almeida go down. He has recovered position in the peloton with unclear injuries, however he has been at the medical car in the meantime. A bad sign in a day that will be important for the overall classification, with the tough ascent of the Xorret del Catí in the menu.
