Jai Hindley ended his season in Australia with the Wollongong World Championships, and he's starting his 2023 campaign in his home country aswell as the Tour Down Under is set to host another big star.
“We spend so much of our season in Europe, so it is nice to come back and race in front of Australian fans," the BORA - hansgrohe said in a press release from the race. "2022 was a massive year for me and I’m looking forward to setting up my 2023 season with a strong performance in Adelaide.”
Hindley last raced the Tour Down Under in 2020 right before the pandemic cancelled the race on two occasions. He had a long stint in Australia that year with Team DSM, having won the Herald Sun Tour before eventually going on to finish in the Giro d'Italia that year. He's looking to aim just as high this start of the season.
The Australian race returns as the opening World Tour event in 2023 with a route that is completely different to it's regular format. The likes of Chris Froome, Geraint Thomas, Jay Vine, Pello Bilbao and Rohan Dennis have all hinted or confirmed their presence at the land Down Under.
