Geraint Thomas wins Tour de Suisse, Remco Evenepoel bounces back to win final time-trial

The Tour de Suisse has ended today with Remco Evenepoel bouncing back to take the final stage win of the race, riding the final time-trial in the fastest time bouncing back from a less good week. Geraint Thomas attacked Sergio Higuita to win the overall classification.

The stage was to be decided between the final riders setting off the start ramp. Remco Evenepoel set a time of 28:26 in the 25.6-kilometer long route in Vaduz, a strong time but not one that comfortably took the win. However he managed to hold on in first place, as Stefan Küng arrived 11 seconds slower, and Geraint Thomas finished only three seconds behind.

Thomas' time was fast enough to dethrone Sergio Higuita as expected, as the Colombian shed 1:14 minutes to the INEOS Grenadiers rider. Thomas took the final overall win, with Sergio Higuita and Jakob Fuglsang completing the podium.
