Franck Bonnamour will be at the start of the Boucles de la Mayenne on Thursday (25-28 May). For the Frenchman it is his first race since the Tour des Alpes Maritimes et du Var, where he broke his foot.
Bonnamour, who is in his first season for AG2R Citroën, crashed in the second stage of the Tour du Var. He suffered a fracture in his right foot. It was expected that he would be able to make his comeback again in early April, but the recovery turned out to take longer. "I didn't expect this foot fracture to keep me out of the peloton for so long," says the 27-year-old rider.
“I have waited three months for this moment. The fact that I have been able to focus on my rehabilitation all these weeks does not alter the fact that I am looking forward to the races and I am full of adrenaline," Bonnamour is very excited pin on race numbers again.
But he's just as motivated to pay back the trust of the team that effectively saved him when B&B project collapsed: “I just finished a two-week training camp in Corsica. There I had great conditions for training and for fine-tuning my physical condition. The season is still long and I want to perform well in the AG2R Citroën shirt.”
